Domestic Sustainability Option

ISU MPP is partnering with Prairie Horizons Farm and registered dietitian Mary Jo Forford to provide a new opportunity to meet ACEND competencies and learn about Sustainable, Resilient and Healthy Food and Water Systems at an on-farm experience in Minnesota.

Who should apply? Anyone interested in learning:
● How agricultural practices affect biodiversity
● How food and farming systems can adapt to climate change
● What constitutes a sustainable and resilient food and water system
● Potential roles for RDNs in achieving more sustainable, resilient and healthy food and water systems
● Tools and resources to support RDNs working in food systems

RDNs-to-be will have the opportunity to experience, discuss, and reflect
●Personal connections to food and water systems
●The history and relationships between the food and watershed, land and people
●Approaches for equitable and just food systems
●Principles of agroecology, permaculture, regenerative agriculture and Indigenous foodways
●Food and farm policy
●Local, regional and global distribution systems
