If you have a PhD

Iowa State University has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND®) to participate in the Individualized Supervised Practice Pathways (ISPP).

ISPP opportunities for individuals holding a doctoral degree

The ISU Dietetics Internship will provide the ISPP opportunity to those possessing doctoral degrees (DPD verification statement not required).  If the PhD applicant does not have a DPD verification statement, knowledge will be assessed to determine which, if any, DPD Foundation Knowledge Learning needs to be completed prior to start of the workshop. ISPP candidates have the same requirements for successful completion as other interns.

Total cost for this pathway is a nonrefundable $75 application fee plus minimum $5325- $8000 workshop and processing costs.  Once your materials are reviewed and accepted, you will receive a link to register for this workshop via email.  Payment in full via credit card is due upon registration.

Applications will be reviewed by Program Director and review committee.  You may be contacted for a phone interview.  If accepted to the “Professional Training in Dietetics Program”, total amount of supervised practice hours will be determined by the Program Director.  You will be required to complete a Pre-MNT Workshop either on-site or via distance education.
